Well I’m a man with a few words, first things first. I am sponsored by Zet, if you know me you will know I wont hold back if I really dont like something so here goes……The first day I paddled the Raptor I didnt want to get out of it, spent the whole day on the water at HPP, the Raptor seems to give you a different feel on the water which I really enjoy. Has to be the fastest creek boat I’ve paddled, I did think with all that speed something would have to give like less rocker and making it harder to turn. After making a few slalom gates the Raptor turns better then any other creek boat, nimble and fast all the way through the turn.
From your first glance of the out fitting you may think, oh it looks a bit basic. Well everything you need is in there and works very well, after paddling it for 24hrs I didn’t once get pins and needles or a dead leg, the seat being foam is very comfortable.
My Raptor has been used by the boys at Canoe and Kayak mag, myself lots including 24hrs of paddling and also has been out on demo loads. Seems to be hold up well with no dents, holes just the normal scratches, loving the four year plastic warranty.
So in all its the best creek boat I have ever paddled in my eyes, give one a try, it may not be for you but worth go.
Finally I have my editing system all up and running! The video below is a quick one thrown together in a few hours to test out how long it takes to render and upload. The freestyle footage is from Hurley Weir, the river shots are taken on the Upper Dart.

What a start to the year, we have been waiting for Hurley to come up for months and as soon as we hit 2011 we get a solid 3 gates for 3 weeks, such a good start to the year. This year i decided to paddle the 2010 Jackson Allstar, I felt i was being left behind in the Orbit fish so have upgraded. I did try the 2010 Allstar in the summer and didn’t really like it as you dont get much feeling from the edges which I like. After sitting in the eddie watching all the kids retain some crazy moves which I was struggling with I couldn’t take it any more and had to join them. After a couple of hours in one I was boating much better and actually landing a lot more moves and sticking them.

Thanks to Jeff I have some pictures from the first freestyle event I entered and organised myself, also was the first event of the year 2000. This was held in Norfolk at Swanton Morley just under the bridge, to get enough water to create a good feature we had to divert an off shoot to keep the volume up. Think i finished fourth which was pretty good as i had to ask my friend in the eddie how to chartwheel and couldn’t roll. Alots changed since then!!
This week I am studying Final cut computer software, have already had my first day and my head hurts!!! Hopefully next year i will be able to put together some improved video’s for you guys to watch.
Day two at big college, todays lessons were effects and filters. My mind is melting!!
Day three at the college and i have passed out, just need to get all my kit up to standard over christmas and practice my new skills.
